I have a couple things I want to talk about this morning, so I thought I’d write this puppy up before work.
First of all, last night I set my alarm for 5:30 this morning, and unlike yesterday I was actually able to wake up! I quickly slipped into my running digs and headed out the door for a run.
It is SUPER hot and humid outside, even at that time, and I was feeling pretty slow and sluggish. I kept ‘er easy, and I ran about 4.5k, though 30 seconds slower per kilometre than my usual pace.
No biggie. In times like this I try to concentrate more on the fact that I went out there and DID IT, rather than beat myself up about not being a speed demon. You can’t always be awesome. Or…can you?
Let’s talk about this shirt. I ordered it online from SkinnyRunner a little while ago and I am loving it. If you haven’t read her blog, I highly suggest you go and check it out immediately. SR is awesome. One of the very first blogs I started reading and she is a HUGE running inspiration. She has ran something like 11 billion marathons and a ton of halfs. It is both motivating, and makes you feel like you are doing nothing in life .
I also get all caught up on most of my celeb gossip through her. Running motivation + celebrities? Yes please.
This was the shirt I reallllly wanted to get:
Since it is one of my fave songs of all time. It was even my phone’s ringtone for a while in college… Sadly, she only had it in XS, and I happen to have a freakishly long torso, so I’m pretty sure I would look like this wearing it…
Only less attractive.

Two people have actually asked me what the shirt means. I thought this was a pretty silly question…am I wrong? It’s a stop sign with an X through it…
Anywhoozles, after my sweaty run this morning, I wanted a breakfast that would cool me down but also fill me up! I decided to make myself a strawberry banana green monster.
Into my blender went:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberries (ish)
- 2 handfuls fresh baby spinach
- 1.25 cups almond milk
- pinch xanthan gum (to thicken)
x2 since I made one for A-Rod as well. Which just goes to show you that you can NOT taste the spinach, because if you could he would NOT eat it.
Wanna know the best thing about this smoothie? I took it to-go!
It was definitely nice to have that to sip on while in traffic.
